With the start of the new academic year, we’re very excited to welcome three new PhD students who will be working in the group:
- Harry Brough is co-supervised with Prof Sam Hay in the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, and will be using linear-scaling first principles modelling to study enzymes.
- Henry Davis is co-supervised with Prof Joao Fonseca in the Department of Materials, and will be modelling colour centres in semiconductors and their dynamics.
- Ishraq Mamun is co-supervised with Dr Alex Eggemann in the Department of Materials, and will be combining experimental electron microscopy with first principles modelling to understand high-entropy materials.
It’s great to have all three of them on board, and to get working on some exciting new science!
